Case Study

Local Trust

Local Trust are a place-based funder working with 150 Big Local areas, where people are making their communities even better places to live.

Local Trust’s mission is to enable people to make their communities better places to live. Local Trust does this by helping them develop and use their skills and confidence to identify what matters most to them, and to take action to change things for the better, now and in the future. Local Trust is actively engaged with 150 communities across the UK and provides support and funding to help people make sustainable change, maximise impact and make the best use of scarce resources.

The Challenge.

Local Trust recognised the need for a system that would help with the management of not just the grant applications from the communities they were working with but also a repository for all the contacts, partnerships, plans and outputs associated with each community. The challenge was to provide Local Trust with a grant management system and also a complete online community solution.

The Solution.

Flexi-Grant® was implemented and built upon to ensure that each community could access and maintain details on their own ‘area’. This included each area having the ability to publish details on their area, manage local contacts, share news and apply to Local Trust for their funding. 150 areas were set up and configured within Flexi-Grant® with Local Trust being able to manage all funding proposals from application to decision to payment and through to the solution.

Local Trust’s ‘Big Local Community’, as it is known, has provided Local Trust and, more importantly, the communities it serves with the platform needed to ensure all activities associated with realising the Big Local vision and mission are managed in a single, shared system.
